Fairest Isle
A Celebration of Folksong from the British Isles

The tradition of folksong is of great importance to the heritage of any country. In the British Isles the variety and quality of material that exists is vast, due mainly to collectors such as Ralph Vaughan Williams and Cecil Sharp. Fairest Isle selects some of the best-loved folksongs from all corners of the British Isles (Loch Lomond, My love is like a red rose, O Danny Boy among others) alongside music and readings which highlight various aspects of British life, such as the church, the pub and the countryside. This programme places tradition alongside discovery.

All Creation Rejoices

Nature and landscape, the seasons and the weather combine to build the tapestry of creation. Each aspect of creation affects the way in which we live, and can bring joy to all. Quintessential Voices celebrates creation in a sequence of music and readings. Polyphonic pieces and close-harmony, part-songs and madrigals are interspersed with readings by Lauri Lee, Robert Herrick, Mark Twain and others.
