George III: The Squire of Windsor
At his coronation George III declared ‘I glory in the name of Briton’. The third King of the Hanoverian line, he reigned during an extraordinary time in the history of Britain that saw the loss of her North American colonies and the rise to independence of the United States of America. He is known as a patron of the arts and a family man who spent much of his life within the walls of Windsor Castle. We explore the life and times of George III in a programme of words and music: a sequence which aims to inform and entertain in equal measure.
