Jon is the business manager of the group, and as such is allowed to boss the other guys around from time to time! Or at least, the rest of the group allow him to think he's in charge...
He has a wide ranging and eclectic career - as well as Quintessential Voices he is a member of the choir at Westminster Cathedral and the EXAUDI vocal ensemble and combines these with a wide range of outside engagements. Recent solo highlights include performances of Weill's Seven Deadly Sins with the Spanish National Youth Orchestra and the UK premiere of Taverner's new mass setting. He made his Barbican debut in December 2008, standing in at short notice for Ian Bostridge in a performance of Bach's Cantanta 61, and will return there under Martyn Brabbins with the BBC Symphony Orchestra to perform Jonathan Harvey's Wagner Dreams in January 2012. In May 2009, he performed Stravinsky's Threni with the CBSO and Sakari Oramo.
He teaches piano, singing and theory, and works as a choral animateur for Westminster Cathedral. He is also the editor of arco and JESTA for the UK branch of the European String Teachers' Association, and still tries to find time to play his cello occasionally. When he has a spare moment, he regularly conducts the Windsor and Eton Operatic Society, thrashes a golf ball around the course, and was delighted to have completed his first marathon (Rome) earlier this year.
