Will was a chorister at Ripon Cathedral before going to Uppingham School where he played in the same 'cello section as Jon for nearly three years. He spent his undergraduate years as a choral scholar at King's College, Cambridge, graduating with a degree in Classics, before becoming a Lay Clerk at Christ Church Oxford, and later (and currently) Westminster Cathedral.
He works extensively as a freelance singer, in particular performing worldwide and recording with such groups as the Gabrieli Consort (with whom he has made several solo appearances), Tenebrae, OAE and Gallicantus, as well as occasional appearances with the BBC Singers, Alamire, the Sixteen and many others. He has performed as a soloist with choral societies all over the country, most notably in the Passiontide masterpieces of Bach and Stainer.
His spare time activities include reading, Indian cookery, real ale, considering brewing cider, and investing in the recording industry.
